Ashford University seeking "Regional Admissions Representative" in Chicago area

Position Summary: The Regional Representative's responsibility is to recruit prospective students from the Chicago area. This position will report to the Regional Admissions Representative Manager.
This description is intended to be generic in nature. It is not intended to determine specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position. Essential functions may vary based on the specific tasks assigned to the position.

Essential Job Duties:
• Represent the university to prospective students with diverse backgrounds and their families in the determined regional area.
• Attend college fairs and make individual high school visits and classroom presentations to high schools throughout the year.
• Organize and supervise bus/van trips to Ashford University's campus.
• Arrange and conduct individual interviews with students as well as organize regional group information sessions for students, parents, and guidance counselors.
• Telecounsel with prospective students to encourage campus visits as well as apply for admission.
• Maintain appropriate follow-up communication with prospective students regarding the status of their applications for admission and financial aid. Follow-up includes, and is not limited to telephone, mail, e-mail, and face-to-face communication.
• Assist with campus visit days.
• Work closely with the Regional Representative Manager to ensure goals and objectives are met.
• Utilize Ashford University alumni to help support the college's recruitment efforts in the area.
• Valid Driver's required.

Requirements:
• Candidates must be free to travel, be self-starters and willing to work nights and weekends. Valid Driver's License required.


Qualifications:
• Experience in admissions, financial aid, marketing/public relations and counseling are preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written.
• Ability to organize and plan multiple projects.
• Knowledge of techniques and principles of counseling.
• Skill in interviewing.
• Skills to be creative take initiative and have a strong work ethic.

Education:
• Bachelor's Degree is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit at desk location, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls (i.e. mouse, keyboard, telephone), frequently talk or hear, reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision of computer monitor.
